Who Am I?
“Grab a cup of rice, put it in the pot and wash it. Add 2 cups of water and a teaspoon of salt, push the button down and the pot will do the rest. Crack an egg over butter and fry it in the small pan. Food should be ready in 20 mins. Love you.”
That’s the note a 6 year old Latino immigrant boy would come home to while his mom was at job 3 of 3 to put food on the table. I’m just trying to make sure her sacrifices weren’t for nothin’.
So who am I? I’m a creative, a traveler, a golfer, a sports addict, a foodie, a dreamer and all the positive great things which should start an introduction I guess. But really… I’m a young Latino immigrant male who was never supposed to accomplish what I’ve accomplished.
“Nobody makes it from my ends, I had to bust up the silence” -Drake.
Growing up in Elizabeth, NJ was no easy feat and your path was not paved for you. After a rough start to my adolescence, I eventually found strength and guidance in family and new friendships that would shape me for the rest of my life.
A young start in leadership mixed with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and progression made me a prime candidate to break through walls unimaginable.
Professionally, I have been relentless in my development in search of the next chapters in my life. I have grounded myself in empathy and clarity and found this to be my guiding light for the future. I am moved by data, numbers, and facts to guide my decisions and inform the future but I always leave room for some ‘gut instincts’.
I love to collaborate with teams to advance projects but I also enjoy identifying when it’s time to get into the nitty gritty. I am organized and meticulous ensuring I mitigate any unforeseen situations but I am also ready to pivot and deal with ambiguity- these situations are the most fun.
Personally, I love food, sport, reading self growth books, and friends & family time. These days, I spend time traveling the world, trying new foods and getting in the most rounds of golf possible. I love picking up self-growth books and leaning into how to improve as a person from all perspectives and ensure I am continuously evolving for the people around me and for myself.
